July 11th through July 14th the Mike Mischler Rambler Football Skills Camp took place at Dollinger Field. The camp was organized by Cathedral Prep head football coach Mike Mischler and camp director/varsity defensive line coach Mark Brooks. This was the third year that they have collaborated to offer the camp. Campers grade 2nd through 8th grade were coached over the four day period by the Cathedral Prep varsity coaching staff and players.
Every camper learned skills to improve their play at a variety of positions. Campers rotated at offensive line, wide receiver, running back, and quarterback on offense. Defensively they rotated through the defensive line, line backer, zone, and man coverage drills. Campers also competed in the “NFL Combine” and “Punt, Pass, Kick” competitions. Every camper received a draft card and winners of the competitions received awards. Camp director Mark Brooks said “this was an excellent camp, I was thrilled with the participation of the campers and the effort of our varsity counselors”.
